Story & design context: Historic Naga necklaces in museum collections are documented in combinations of glass beads, brass, fiber, resin, wood, shell and stone. That material mixing is part of what makes Naga beadwork visually powerful: color, texture and repetition do as much work as a central pendant. This piece uses that same layered language of many small units becoming one large sculptural form. Meanings of colors and motifs vary greatly between Naga communities and periods.

Care: Keep dry and away from perfume, lotions and chemical cleaners. Store flat or hanging so the strands do not tangle.
